Edvard Munch was a Norwegian artist. He was the nephew of Peter Andreas Munch. Edvard Munch is Norway's greatest artist. He came to constitute an important source of inspiration for German Expressionism. He 's best known work is The Scream (actually, four images of the same subject). One of the largest collections of Munch's works outside Norway are on the Thiel Gallery in Stockholm

Munch found inspiration for the painting The Sick Girl in his sister Sophie Johanne's death from tuberculosis, only fifteen years old. In this work he gives samples of the neurotic expressionism which he used to reinforce the image of reality. The painting there are at least six varieties. Wikipedia
